The aiport is situated in the Northwest of the island, 15km away from the village of Vao, the chief-place of the island, and 10km away from the famous bays of Kuto, Kanuméra and Oro.
There are daily flights between the Isle of Pines and Nouméa.

The Airport Île des Pins-Moué offers a wide range of services for all passengers, such as free Wifi access in the entire aiport.
The province's patrimony since 1990
On the 1st of January 1990 the Southern Province came into control of the airport and manages it since then.
The 10th of August 1997 was a "black" day as a fire destroyed the airport.
The province began with the construction of a new airport in the beginning of the year 2000. It was inaugurated on the 3rd of June 2002.
The building is marked by the high architectural quality, a magnificent tool to develop tourism on the Isle of Pines.
Several actors assure the operation of the airport 24/7.
- The Province's authorities (Land and development directorate) for air traffic, the Service for Security, Safety and Aircraft Firefighting and Wildlife Hazard
- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry,airport manager, is responsible for the operation of the airport, for surveillance and reception of the public. The institution is also responsable for the technical management of the building and the administrative and financial management.
- An airline (Air Calédonie) for passenger check-in and handling of merchandise.
